Brown Rice

Brown Rice



  • 1 cup of brown rice 
  • 3 cups of water
  • ½ teaspoon of ghee 
  • Salt to taste 


  1. Wash brown rice in at least 3 changes of water and leave to soak overnight. 
  2. The next day discard the soak water. 
  3. Put rice, water, ghee and sea salt in a saucepan. The rice/water ratio should always be 1:3. 
  4. Bring to boil on high heat, lower heat to low-medium and cover ¾ and let cook till soft and fluffy. 

Brown rice usually takes longer to cook than white rice, so don't despair the first time you try making it!
