Take 3 to 5 teaspoons of syrup (after meals) twice a day with an equal quantity of water, as an addition to the daily diet.

I was born w/DNA damage, and exhibited vata constitutional aggravation long before I knew what Ayurveda is. When I did educate myself, I adopted an Ayurvedic diet and focused on cooking and consuming kitchari which pacified vata imbalances. What I did not know at the time was, that I could never thrive on a vegetarian diet because I did not know that I had DNA damage until I was 57 years old, and my digestion was severely compromised by candida which had created leaky gut and hormonal shutdown and painfully raw skin which worsened over years. I was diagnosed with prostate cancer, which precipitated my decision to go on a cancer-starving diet, which also happened to be a candida-starving diet, and this, at the age of 57 is when I saw marked reduction of my symptoms. So 8 years down the road, I have been most fortunate to have steady work and a supportive spouse, and I expend a great deal of my income on supplements. As I have aged, my gut issues have not gone away, but changed. I have a high-fat, low-carb regimen, and that means lots of foods I avoided as a young adult: eggs, beef, bacon, pork, etc. But of late I have experienced SIBO (small intestine bacteria overgrowth) which manifests as constipation usually or diarrhea occasionally. This is the context in which I have benefitted greatly from taking balaristham after every meal. Often my meal will consist of bone broth and nuts or seeds, with meat and a little lettuce or cooked cole slaw. As long as I keep the carb count low, and don’t eat too much at once, the balaristham helps me greatly to digest and eliminate without difficulty. Prior to my trying it, I had no idea it could work so well for me. I would recommend that anybody who has high vata consider trying it!
