Guggul comes from the sap of the Indian bdellium tree (also known as Mukul myrrh tree). Harvesters tap the tree—much like you would a maple tree to get sap for maple syrup. A thin slice is made in the bark, just enough to create a slow flow of sap, which then dries on the tree. Once crystallized, the sap is ready for harvesting and refining. Guggul is bitter and astringent, which makes it great at breaking up excess Kapha in the body and purifying the liver. However, Pitta-predominant types may find that guggul can uncomfortably increase their Pitta.

"It's a lot easier than trying to purify guggul yourself! Idk how it stacks up against Patanjali, or banyan... but I think guggul in general is wonderful. And the odor is so unique and powerful. Banslochan is another resin that's awesome...makes a good churnas. I would take this always if $ wasn't a thing. Why no recycling stamp on new bottles, is it bioplastic?"

"I started taking this product about a week ago. I was worried that I may get diahrrea because I have tried other "cleanse" products and had to stop them. I have had no issues and actually feel pretty good. The formula must be special. not sure it's made a difference for me

"I'm not overweight, but started it to help with fatigue, especially after eating and to improve digestion as suggested here in other reviews, also purchased it on sale. I'm not sure it has made any difference. I also read it helped with skin problems like psoriasis. Going back to triphala and using massage oils and cremes found here has helped with too much pita in skin. Since ayurveda is lifestyle, have started regular meditation and yoga which seems to be helping with overall health."

Will it reduce bad cholesterol?
Our Guggul does promote healthy cholesterol & triglyceride levels
Is this an on going supplement? How many bottles are recommended for a cleanse?
A good rule of thumb is to stop taking all herbs after 3 months to allow the body to reregulate and adapt to the work that has been done. After a week you can resume your regular routine and reintroduce the herbs.
I will be having a colonoscopy on August 13 how many days do I need to stop guggul before the procedure I understand it is important to stop it before but I do not know how long in advance to stop it
