Vegan Autumn Gummies


Ayurveda doesn’t promote candy but that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy anything sweet. Using natural fruit juices aligned with the Autumn season and minimal, unrefined sweeteners, and vegan “jello” made from the algae, agar agar, these gummies provide a sweet treat without any tricks, just in time for Halloween.  


1 cup black cherry juice
1 Tablespoon agar agar powder
1 ½ Tablespoon maple syrup

Silicon mould for gummies shapes. You can use a baking dish instead and simply slice into cubes as well.


Add all ingredients to a small stock pot and heat over low heat, stirring to dissolve agar agar completely. This should take approximately 3 minutes.

Set up your silicon moulds on a baking tray or cutting board to prevent spillage when transporting to the refrigerator.

Using a dropper, pipe the mixture into the silicon moulds, and refrigerate for approximately 20-30 minutes until firm.
Pop out of moulds and serve chilled. These will not be shelf stable, so keep refrigerated in an airtight container.

Swap out cherry juice for apple or other seasonal fruit juice. For turmeric gummies, use 1 cup carrot or apple juice with ½ teaspoon turmeric powder.
